Policy Consultant

Debra Cooper covers veterans affairs, public health, managed health care and a variety of human services areas. She first joined the California Senate Office of Research as a Science Policy Fellow. She was previously a post-doctoral fellow in the Center for Addiction Research at the University of Texas Medical Branch and has also performed behavioral health research at Emory University and Duke University.

Cooper holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Duke University and a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Emory University.
