Policy Consultant

Marissa Vismara joined the Senate Office of Research in June 2022 and works on health issues. Most recently, Marissa was the senior policy coordinator of government affairs at the California Primary Care Association. She was the content policy lead for California’s health care workforce and people experiencing homelessness. Before that, she managed clinical studies and evaluated statewide mental health programs at the UC Davis Center for Healthcare Policy and Research. Marissa learned Spanish while volunteering abroad with the Ecuadorian Red Cross and also ran quality assurance as a data analyst for the Maryland Department of Health.

Marissa holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and global health from the University of Washington and a master’s of health policy and management from Johns Hopkins University.
