Meg Svoboda

Deputy Director

Meg Svoboda has extensive experience in budgetary and fiscal matters as well as policy development. Before she joined the California Senate Office of Research in 2007, Svoboda served as a manager for the Board of Equalization’s budget unit. Prior to that, she was the Legislative Deputy Commissioner for the Department of Financial Institutions and a policy committee consultant with the California Assembly Committee on Banking and Finance. Svoboda has also served as a fiscal and policy analyst with the Legislative Analyst's Office, focusing on business development and regulation.
 
She has a bachelor’s degree in English literature from DePauw University and a master's degree in public administration from Columbia University.
