Ryan Harrison joined the Senate Office of Research (SOR) in 2016 and specializes in labor, elections, and constitutional amendments. Before SOR, Ryan specialized in labor and employment litigation at a law firm in San Francisco and spent some time on special assignment as a consultant for the 2015 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors. Before law school, Ryan served as a Senate Sergeant-at-Arms and was an aide to Board of Equalization Chairman Jerome E. Horton. While in law school, Ryan clerked for California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye.
Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of California, Davis, a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Sacramento, and a Juris Doctor from the University of California Hastings College of the Law. Ryan also is a senior fellow of Sacramento’s Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program, Class II.
