Monica Montano

Policy Consultant

Monica Montano joined the Senate Office of Research in 2020 and covers health care policy issues. Prior to her role in SOR, Monica was a Grant Program Director at a non-profit, Physicians for a Healthy

California. She created and implemented a new grant program centered on increasing the number of primary care physicians in California. Prior to her non-profit work, she worked as a Committee Consultant for the Assembly Health Committee as a California Council on Science and Technology Fellow.

Monica holds a Bachelor’s degree from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO, and a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Pathology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
